The Presidential debate oopsie

It's no secret that I am pretty liberal in my political beliefs. So, I will still be voting for Obama in the presidential election. But I watched the debate with Romney the other night.....ummm... I did NOT see that one coming. I had been pretty curious about the debate before hand. Romney had a bunch of screw ups and fumbles, but I knew he wasn't a stupid man. So, I was really curious to see how he would stand up to an incredible orator like President Obama. What I didn't think about was that debating is a completely different beast than giving speeches. And apparently Romney is a good debater! I still don't agree with Romney on just about everything, but I give him credit on the debate. 

I am hoping in the next presidential debate (Oct 16th), that the President will have learned from his mistakes on this past one. There is also a vice-presidential debate on the 11th. That should be very interesting as well.

I don't think these debates really sway the election too much in either direction. But I do think they help voters know what they are getting in for. It wasn't as if either candidates political views have changed at all.

Morning Pin Up Doodle

my computer was taking it's sweet time waking up this morning, so I dusted off the sketch book and started doodling. I started with the eyes, and ended with a pin up. Girls are way more fun to draw than guys.

One Tattoo at a Time

When I didn't make it to the final round in the Ravelry illustration contest a couple of months ago, I was really...... annoyed. I really liked my design. Normally I have a pretty thick skin when it comes to people not liking my work, but that's when it is work. Work is work, and the client is always right. So, no big deal when they dislike something, I tweak it, they like it, I get paid. No problem!!  But I poured more of my heart into this one.

But that was before someone on Ravelry who loved my design, decided to turn it into a tattoo!!! I can't decide if it is better than winning, but it's a toss up!! This person loved it enough to tattoo it forever on their body!!!! They will have it longer than some random canvas bag. So cool!! 

Needle Felting

Here is my first attempt at needle felting. I saw a hat last week that I absolutely fell in love with on the CAFblog. Click here to see the hat. Within an hour, I had ordered my first needle felting supplies. I quickly had to finish up knitting the hat that I was working on, wait for the kids to go to bed (an actually fall asleep, and not just fake it since they are 4 and 5). And then I was off and felting. 

I LOVE it..... like I needed another hobby though..... Well, at least this one goes with the knitting. sort of.
